Hello, Grace! Sometimes I think we just need to regroup. I got burnt out with juggling care giving and all family needs with trying to fit in my time. I gave up and took a break and now I am planning on starting up again on my painting. Good luck with your funk, it will go away!

Wasn't it something else when it started the thunder and lightening and RAIN the night before. I thought back to the downpour we had at the Coyote Hills paint out and thought "OH, NO!!!"

But it did turn out wonderful. Love your pastel, I'm going to have to try it someday.

Dear Grace,

It's nice to have you back among us. I am looking forward to all the new art you will create based on your travel experiences of the summer. Loved the little description of the swallows.

About the closest I've been to the animals this summer was a delightful, if short, trip last week to the Oakland Zoo with the girls!

Hi, Grace! Congratulations on being a runner up--being in the running is always better than NOT being in it! And it's like the lottery--you can't win if you don't enter. But you did, and it had a good result. More of us need to take a chance on things like that because we have nothing to lose by sending off an image. I like the idea of your monthly challenge and I am in a similar group myself. It certainly forces ME to think outside the familiar "box" and to tackle subjects that I wouldn't otherwise. Keep up the good work!

It definitely has that "rainy essence", doesn't it? I've been working on my Day 2 painting from the Rosecrucian workshop also. It's coming together. I'm eager to see a photo of your efforts!
